A surfer was bitten on the hand by a shark off Pippi Beach in Australia.
The man only identified as Steve was paddling out to catch a wave when his board and hand were bitten by a shark.
The bite damage both his nerves and tendons.
He received surgery at the Gold Coast University Hospital where they were able to repair most of the damage.
Unfortunately some of the nerve damage could be permanent, however he will be receiving physical therapy which will hopefully help.
The location has been marked on the 2015 shark attack bites tracking map.
